Most people have to make do until they can upgrade. No one deliberately lives in a cramped space. Nothing is ever ideal. Humans are never satisfied permanently.

Thank you for the nice video, I installed mine yesterday. Little tip for the ones still planning on building these - you don`t need the cupboard step, just shove the Reflectix direclt into all corners of your window and mark the outline with a sharpie. Add 1- 2 cm to the outline and cut it there. You can now place the Reflectix and cut some more where it`s needed. Fits like a glove...

Thanks for this and other instructive videos. How to do secure the plug to the water inlet such that you can repeatedly unscrew it and re attach it and still maintain pressure. I went with PVC for my build and used 4 mil yellow air tape for the threads. But am losing pressure pretty quickly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Je suis une Française voyageant au Canada pour une durée de deux ans. J'ai passé l'hiver à St John's (Terre-Neuve), et j'ai entrepris cette folle aventure que celle d'aménager un van moi-même ! (Je n'avais jamais tenue de scie circulaire ou sauteuse avant ça! ) J'avais passé l'année 2019 en Nouvelle-Zélande où j'avais acheté une Toyota déjà transformée donc j'avais en tête un design inspiré de celui que j'avais connu, en tachant de l'améliorer à ma convenance. Mais en regardant et comparant de nombreuses conversions de vans, ton design m'a convaincue ! J'admire ton ingéniosité et ton sens pratique ! Tes réflexions et tes remarques sont toujours pertinentes ! De plus je trouve ton concept facile à adapter aux exigences de chacun tout en répondant aux besoins les plus essentiels. Bref ! Voilà un mois que j'ai quitté St John's à bord d'Homère (une Honda Odyssey de 2008) et que j'explore les merveilles de Terre-Neuve (mais mon objectif c'est bien de parcourir le pays entier d'Est en Ouest!), et tout ce que je peux dire, c'est que j'adore ma vie en van et que je suis super fière du travail accompli malgré les petites imperfections ! J'aurais adoré joindre des images de mon van pour avoir ton avis ! Hihihi ! Il y a deux jours à King's Point (Baie Verte), j'ai rencontré un couple de Calgary voyageant également en van avec leur chien bien que leur voiture n'était pas plus grande que la mienne ! Nous avons comparé nos aménagements et il était évident que nous nous étions tous inspirés de ton design et bien entendu le nom de ta chaîne a été mentionné. Je mentionne ton nom à chaque fois qu'on demande à voir l'intérieur de ma voiture d'ailleurs! Je pense que la meilleure chose que je puisse faire pour te remercier, c'est de promouvoir ta chaîne quand j'en ai l'occasion. Alors encore une fois, merci infiniment, c'est grâce à toi que ce projet, ce rêve que je caresse depuis que je suis rentrée de Nouvelle-Zélande, est devenu réalité et c'est avec grand plaisir que je suivrai tes futures aventures !

Great covers. Work well I found the adhesive did not stick to my thrifted fabric and so i used the carpet (double sided) tape instead to black out the covers and that worked great too, so far!

Okay so this video came up in my feed and I saw this video I am so impressed and I am now a new subscriber to your channel! I was so touched to see that you guys were posing in front of the Utah sign which I've never been able to do because I was always traveling alone from my work in Nevada to my home in Utah and then the icing on the cake at 10 minutes into the video at the very end you had a picture of Death Valley and that's the lonely road I had to drive to get to work for 9 years😢 I always thought for the last 25 years before I knew van living or camping was ever a thing I always had such a wonderful feeling having all these thoughts of Designing my van exactly how yours is designed all the way down to the sliding bed.

Thank you! From central part of Texas. Things i may try--Magnetic hooks from Harbor Freight instead of suction cups. Reinforcing the edge where that hook goes through to hold the shower curtain side with Gorilla tape (extra strong brown duct tape) XL Binder clips from office supply vs chip clips. Rubber floor mat from van to reduce muddy feet? Idk. Maybe a designated shower mat one. Another idea is drill small holes in a gallon water jug lid and use as a shower. Thanks for sharing your great ideas!

Why not place mattress directly on floor, surely this will give you much more head space as well as keeping things simple.

The biggest mistake is that most small vans are too small to have sleeping space for a 200cm tall person. Nice build of you. what kind of car is yours?

I'm watching from Singapore, but am Australian, a few years ago my wife and I took a year off and travelled around Australia in a car, and it was amazing. That being said, if I had seen this video I could have solved a lot of problems we had!
